Big Chair

This ended up being quite a different that what I originally had thought. The big chair was free (JIPPI). I knew I wanted a pink chair. So I bought some pink paint and pink fabric and did my thing.

Office/Guest Room Make-Over Part 1

I have an office/guest room in my apartment. Well its really my parents apartment that my sister and I rent since they live in a different city. We live in our home town and my parents and little sister live in the capital. The third bedroom in the apartment is their "space" for when they come to visit, but I use it as my "office" crafts room because I have a tiny bedroom. I had to mention this because they had to be a big part of the process. I guess you could look at me as an interior designer. I had to get their permission before doing any big stuff.

Here is a before picture taken from the door. Sorry about the mess.

The lay-out really wasn't working for me anymore. I decided to make a scale model so I could easily rearrange without having to move the furniture. When I found a lay-out I liked I then moved the furniture around.

I have always found this room quite boring, very white (not my style). I told them about a dream I had that I painted the entire room green. They where shocked! That would NEVER happen. Well I convinced them to paint one wall a colour of their choice, blue or grey. Then I convinced them to paint two walls - the ones around the bed. While my parents were visiting one weekend my mum and I went to buy paint. She ended up choosing green. After they had gone I painted two of the walls green. It just did not look right. After having a video call with my parents we agreed - read I convinced them - to let me paint all the walls.

And so I did.

I also changed from black to white bedding, added black boxes in the bookcase, removed some of the laundry system, removed the curtains, added a side table for the printer and removed the shelves over the desk. I also spray painted the candle holders purple.

I am so happy with the results. I am not quite done yet though. I still have a lot more organizing to do. I might spray paint the end table purple. I am going to make some art for the wall and make some pillows. I am also going to buy new towel sets.

Redesigned Frames

I had two boring white frames in my bedroom. They were boring. Too boring for my new bedroom. I decided to give them a make-over!

I started with the plain frame.

Then I added some washi tape around the frame. It fit perfectly. To get the nice corners, I just folded one of the tape pieces in a 45 degree angle and glued it on.

I thought it turned out great, but I was not done. I wanted some flowers. I took pre-cut paper flowers and secured then together with a gemstone pin.

Then I glued them in the bottom corner of my frame. I am so happy the way they turned out! I think they look absolutely amazing! And it took me under 30 minutes to make two.

Bedroom Rearranging

I had a vision on how I thought my bedroom could look great! So I acted. I thought it would be wonderful to move the big chair under the window to get in a lot of natural light when reading and writing. I also changed the small stool to an end table.

I was not satisfied. So I moved it back.

It still was not right, so I changed back to the stool.

So much better. This was my original vision. I was glad I did try to change things around just to see what it would look like (I am weird that way).

Luckily I did not need any help moving my furniture. The only one home was my dog, who was laying on my bed chewing her rat.

Bedroom Closet Make-Over

My room is the only one of the three bedrooms that does not have a build-in closet. There is however a closet in the hallway on the opposite side of my bedroom. Half the closet is mine.

It did need a real organizing. I had all my clothes mixed up, and everything was really messy.

My half:

Other half:

I knew I wanted some really pretty labels. I googled and found a really nice border. I used Picmonkey and added the words and saved them on the computer. I printed out 6 on a page and added each to the basket I wanted.

The entire look changed so much. Then it was time to organize the baskets. I removed one at a time, emptied it out on the basket, organized it and put it back.

After:

I do not use my shoes a lot, so instead of having them hanging in a shoe hanger, I placed then in boxes instead.

On the other side, I just did some tidying.

I am very happy on how it turned out, even though it was not a big change. It does look a lot more tidy now, and I really LOVE my new labels!
